 29. Pokemon Go Players Get Lost in Series of Caves

Four teenagers had to be rescued by firefighters and mine rescue experts, after they became hopelessly lost in a series of caves, as they searched for Pokemon Go characters.

According to The Guardian, the four teenagers ventured into a network of caves in Wiltshire, England as they were out searching for Pokemon. The teens did not find what they were looking for and became lost. They had to wander around the cave network until they were able to get a cell signal to call for help.

Pokemon Go is forcing Americans to learn the metric system and if many didn’t care how many kilometers are in a mile, they do now.

In the game, aside from looking for Pokemon, players can also collect items such as eggs. You can hatch the eggs, but they need to be walked while in incubation before that happens. Generally, an egg needs to be walked 2 kilometers (5 KM for more rare eggs) before it hatches and a lot of American players are clueless when it comes to translations from KM to miles and vice versa.

A quick look Google Trends, there has been an uptick in searches in “2km to miles” & “5km to miles”. If you wanted to know the answer, there are 1.2 miles in 2 kilometers and 3.1 miles in 5 kilometers.

At the moment, there is no way to change the in0game units in Pokemon Go, so players have to resort to doing conversions, or simply learning the metric system.

The Guardian is reporting that hundreds of South Korean players have headed to a remote town called Sokcho, that is close to the North Korean border, so that they can play Pokemon Go.

To quickly summarize why there is such a mass exodus, is based on the fact that Pokemon Go will not work in South Korea. This is because of government regulations, regarding the mapping data used in the game and as a result, the game is a no go in South Korea.

The Guardian reports that despite the blocking of the game, a city close to the border with North Korea, Sokcho, has not been classified as a South Korean territory. So, the mapping data required to make Pokemon Go works right there at that border town.

According to reports, bus tickets from Seoul to Sokcho have been sold out, as hundreds of players make their way to try and catch virtual creatures.

32. A Couple Has Gotten Fed Up With Trespassers

Speaking with WFTV Channel 9 news, a Winter Garden, Florida couple has gotten fed up with Pokemon Go players trespassing on their property. The couple who owns 50,000 acres told the news that people have been crawling under and even cutting through their fence to capture Pokemon characters.

The main concern is frustration over the destruction of their property, as well as what could happen to the trespassers. The man went on to state that a right of property owners is to protect their property and he hopes that some of the Pokemon players are not mistaken for burglars.

33. Man’s House Turned into a Pokegym and Chaos Erupts

Boon Sheridan of Holyoke, MA did not expect his life would be turned upside down when he downloaded the Pokemon Go app, especially when he noticed something weird about it while playing.

He noticed that his home was designated as a Pokegym, why? Because Boon lives in an old church. The Independent reported that

“The game’s gyms are mostly picked using points of information on a map, meaning that areas like parks or churches will usually get the designation. But the app appears to have used an old version of the map, which showed that Mr Sheridan’s house was a church despite not having been for over 40 years.”

Players started showing up and Sheridan was not pleased. He tweeted that “11:20 and people are still driving up and idling for 5-10 minutes while they train.” Later he wrote “For the record, I’ve counted 15 people stopping by and lingering in their phones so far. I think at least three car visits as well”

Despite Sheridan getting pissed at all this unwanted traffic, some good game from it, as seen by his tweet below.

34. Players Are Cheating with Drones

While Pokemon Go requires players to go outside and walk in order to play, there are a couple of players who can’t be bothered with all of that extra work. These Pokemon Go players have decided to cheat by using a remote controlled drone with a phone attached.

There is no need to explain, as the video says it all.
